Mentor profile:
I have been flying since 1994. I got my private pilot certificate at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa. I received my instrument, commercial and CFI in 1998 at Cardinal Wings, Louisville, KY and my multi-engine in January 2000 at the same place. I was a flight instructor there from 1998 to 2001 when I got my first "real" flying job in a metroliner. I have had a few other flying jobs since then, including both cargo, and charter. My current position is captain on a Learjet 35A.

Favorite thing about flying:
I love my "office" view. It is always beautiful and it always changes. I love to travel and to see different parts of the country.
Disadvatages of being a pilot:
The only disadvantage is time spent away from my wife and two small children. We all realize that it is a sacrifice and coping with it day by day.

What you would have done different:
I would have started my career sooner.
Advice to aspiring pilots:
Stay focused. Be willing to sacrifice now so you can reap the rewards later.
Problems encounterd along the way:
Nothing major.
